Tokyo
The city that never repeats itself

¥100,000
per day · guide only · car optional at ¥300,000

Tokyo defeats people who try to plan it. With your own guide it becomes one continuous day instead of nine anxious train changes: a 7th-century temple in the morning, a sword museum at noon, and the whole grid glittering below you by night. The trains here are genuinely better than any car, and we use them.

A day in Tokyo

A starting point, not a script. Every stop can be swapped, dropped or lingered over on the day.

08:00

Pickup

From your Tokyo hotel — Shinjuku, Ginza, Shibuya, anywhere.

08:30

Senso-ji, before the shutters open

Asakusa’s oldest temple with the incense still settling and Nakamise quiet.

10:00

Meiji Jingu

A forest of 100,000 planted trees in the middle of the city. Often a Shinto wedding crosses the courtyard.

11:30

The Japanese Sword Museum

Sumida. National-treasure blades, and a guide who can tell you what you are looking at.

13:00

Lunch

Sushi counter, tempura, or a ramen shop worth the detour. Booked in advance.

14:30

Imperial Palace East Gardens

The stone foundations of Edo Castle — the shogun’s keep once stood here.

16:00

Your Tokyo, chosen

teamLab, Ginza, Akihabara, Nakameguro, Toyosu, Harajuku — or a kimono fitting.

18:00

Shibuya Sky at sunset

The rooftop over the crossing. Timed ticket booked for you.

19:00

We say goodnight

At your hotel, at Haneda, or at the restaurant we booked — extra hours at ¥15,000 if dinner runs long.

Do you need the car here?

No — guide only is enough

Tokyo’s trains beat any car in the city, and we would rather you spent the difference on dinner. Guide-only is our honest recommendation unless you have small children, mobility needs or an early Haneda run.

Getting there

Your guide travels up by shinkansen — rail fare is included in the day rate. If you would rather have the car, an Alphard and driver are chartered in Tokyo at the BUSHIDO Private rate.

Pickup points

  • Any hotel in central Tokyo
  • Haneda (HND) or Narita (NRT)
  • Tokyo / Shinagawa Station
  • Yokohama

When to come

Year-round. Late March for cherry blossom along the Meguro river; November for golden ginkgo at Jingu Gaien.

The rate

¥100,000 guide only — trains, walking and taxis at cost.
¥300,000 with the Alphard and driver, door to door — about ¥50,000 each with 6 of you.
¥500,000 guided by Master Ken himself, six days a month.

Three ways to travel with us

Every one of them is one private group per day, priced for the group rather than per head.
The only question is whether you need the car — and on some days you genuinely do not.
We will tell you which.
